Roy's Macmillan Challenges
Land's End is stunningly situated on the south westernmost tip of England. Its rocky cliffs and pounding seas make a fabulous backdrop for our group photo just before the off.
Our first day started on winding Cornish roads as we headed east towards Penzance, cycling along the sea for short stretch as we passed the famous monument of St Michael's Mount. The terrain was mainly undulating with a few very long climbs (some quite steep). Turning inland again we took winding back-roads before joining a quite main road to Truro and St Austell, passing close to the Eden Project, before cycling on and finishing our first day in Liskeard. 80 Miles
Overall a tough long day climbing and a quick early reminder of what to expect tomorrow!
