Our last night before pushing our way home. Today we got through UT and CO and into NE. Today we saw some great scenery in both UT and southwestern CO. A bunch of unique rock formations. I apologize for slacking and not updating my blog for day 7, but I have some really good notes for each day of our trip so I am doing my blog now. :) We began our day leaving Kingman AZ and getting stuck at a train crossing and John was thrilled! Day 6 we departed Amarillo TX and said goodbye to the Cadillac Ranch. Our first stop was the halfway point for the route....Adrian TX at the Midpoint Cafe. Day 5 and we covered a lot of ground. Left OKC OK this morning for the remainder of the mother road in OK and begin our TX leg. Saw a lot of old neon motel signs for motels that are no longer in operating. Passed through Garth Brooks hometown of Yukon OK. Stopped in El Reno OK to see a retired WWII plane. End of day 3. Another full day. Left Lebanon and headed to explore the rest of MO. Visited marshfield hometown of Edwin Hubble and saw a quarter sized replica of the Hubble telescope. Saw a lot of old motel signs and drive on single alignments of the highway. Cannot image what it was like on a one way road with cars coming at you all the time.
