Hi everyone!
Sorry it´s been so long!
We are in Puno at the moment, in Peru.
Since we last wrote we have been very busy, we went to the silver mine in Potosi which was good and we set off some dynamite both in the mine and outside!
After that we went to Uyuni and the salt flats of Bolivia which was great (photos have been uploaded). We spent 3 days around the salt flats and the landscape was really good. We also reached an altitude of 5000m at the point where we saw the geezers!
From there we went to La Paz (Bolivia´s second capital) where we went downhill mountain biking on the worlds most dangerous road!! (called Death road). This was probably the best activity we have done so far, we descended 3km and cycled a route of 65km with no barriers and a 600ft drop by our sides! (pics to follow).
We crossed the border into Peru a couple of days ago to arrive in Puno. From here we have spent the last couple of days on Lake titicaca and last night we all split of into pairs and stayed with a local family. This was a very surreal experience as there was no electricity, no running water, and our hosts didn´t speak english! It was really good though and we also went to a local dance and we had to dress as the locals did! (pics to follow).
Tomorow we are heading off to Cuzco for 4-5 days to go white water rafting amongst other things before we start the Inca Trek to Macchu Picchu!
We hope all our well and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY (for yesterday).
Love Rob and Ros.
