So I want to blog about food ... I haven't even had pasta yet!! We had a nice pizza on the first night, which by Aussie standards was probably quite plain. Flavor was fresh and delicious in it's simplicity. Then yesterday I felt like a salad for lunch. We had been out touring on a double decker bus and the weather was really quite warm. Luckily a friendly Aussie lady had some sunscreen. Anyway back to food ... Lesson number one - salad in Rome is not like sal...

Arrived in Rome safe and sound. It was a long trip but Emirates were great to fly with. Got in our taxi to take us to the hotel & it turned out to be a communal trip (3 other couples, all going to different hotels). Did we have an adventure? I'm sure we saw parts of Rome that haven't been discovered yet - even the driver's gps couldn't help him (3 left turns just so you could make a legal left turn on the fourth corner). He was starting to show some italian ...

Now sitting in Dubai Airport having coffee. This place is huge. So far we have walked about 5 travelators, and had a chauffeured trip in a airport service vehicle. Trenna totally bemused - she couldn't understand a word our driver said. As for new experiences ..... 8.30 at night. Just had dinner at 150 Riverside East with Phil, Michelle, Sean, Andrew and Sam We are at the airport waiting for our plane. Nerves are just starting to settle in, thinking what have we forgotten Bags weighed under 20 kgs each - way to go Trenna - good packing!!!!! Boys have just realized they don't have a key so either we give them our key or they camp for the next month - mmmmm what to do????

ok so now its time for lists! Starting to feel a wee bit stressed about all the things to organise. Leaving the kids - I guess they won't starve but I need to leave supplies. Sort out key for cleaner and dog sitter. Cancel newspaper (I could have actually done it in the time it took to blog about it). What to take? Checked weather today to find out Rome is 30c. Hadn't been expecting that. So a t-shirt is a good idea (and sunscreen ) All a bit too hard ....
