Wandered down to the square near St Stephens Basillica for dinner. I'd seen some restaurants the night before when we stopped there for a photo shoot on our night lights tour.
We ended up at Osteria Undici which, funnily enough, turned out to be an Italian restaurant. We had a bruschetta to start with prosciutto, soft mozzarella and ruccola (which we know as rocket), served on a baked bread. Then I ordered a chicken roulade, stuffed with Parmesan, red pepper, spinach and wrapped in pancetta. Major YUM!! Ross ordered grilled squid served with red pepper and garlic. Turned out to be whole baby squid cooked to a delicate perfection. We seriously sat there savoring every mouthful, almost not wanting to swallow as we didn't want the flavor to end! How sad does this sound?? We sat, listening to
live piano then a girl singing, sipping on a Hungarian sem sav wine. Needless to say we also ordered dessert. Ross had an ice-cream sort of parfait thing .... And I had a chocolate souffle with a seriously gooey centre. Then the obligatory coffee. Ah heaven xxx
All up a cost of 18547 florin which is 74 euro which is about $100aud. I can't remember enjoying a meal as much as that in a long time!
