Sorry I've been so rubbish at updating my blog, there's now so much to tell!
Last week was my last of voluntary work. It was a really great week as I had come to know the children so well that having fun together came really easily. We had lots of chases around the corridors of Peace Village, despite the disapproving looks from the nurses. I've also got the children dancing too, which was so much fun. I taught Yen how to curtesy, which was very sweet. The kids just couldn't get enough of the piano, they would make me play the same Vietnamese songs again and again. It was lovely to here them all singing their hearts out together. On my last day, I brought lots of sweet treats for the children, and gave them all pencils and loads of stickers. It was really sad to say goodbye as I'd been there long enough for the children to become attached to me.
I was also sad to leave peace house and the other volunteers there as it's been my home for the last 3 weeks. However the accommodation can only be described as basic so I don't miss it at all now! I spent my last night chilling out with some beers with the volunteers I've got to know.
In the week I left a load of new volunteers arrived to start projects. Kenji and Nikolas took over the reins for Peace Village- but I will be keeping an eye on them via facebook! One of the new girlsin my dorm, called Lynsey, is from Bideford!! I travel halfway around the world, and meet someone who lives less than 30min from me in Devon- too weird!
