Has been a fairly laid back weekends in sydney which makes a change! On friday I was very domestic and did all of my washing and then me and abi made our own dinner rather than eating out for once! After dinner we went to the opera house for some cocktails :) it was so good but as you can imagine is was fairly pricey (but cool to say ive done it!) then we went to a little bar just across from the opera house that was just outside circular quay, before having an early night and heading to bed!
On saturday I went to the aquarium! It was good fun but was a bit disappointed that there was no great white shark there :( we got to see all kinda of things though like nemo (yes i found him!) dory, nurse sharks, dugongs, turtles and massive sting rays. After the aquarium there was possibly the worst rain ive seen in a long time (even compared to england, and thats saying something!) so we headed back to the hostel and stayed in for the night. We also booked our greyhound bus and hostel for our first stop up the coast.
Then on Sunday we went to the blue mountains. It was a good laugh becuase it was pretty flooded and still pouring down with rain (thank god leather is kind of waterproof as i had nothing else!). We got to see some massive waterfalls and even walk through a couple of them, needless to say my plimpsoles are literally ruined and I have had to throw them in the bin...! To get to the bottom of the falls we had to walk down through the valley and we went down 1061 steps (yes ok i did literally count). Then once at the bottom we got the railway back up to the top of the mountain which is the worlds steepest railway as it used to be used for mining coal. It goes up at a 52 degree angle which may not sound steep but it was preety creepy and you have to go through a tunnel in the pitch black (and the rain) to get up, so it was basically a rollercoaster!
Now today is monday and me and abi have just checked out of our room (after a struggle to get abis case into the hostel loackers!) and tonight we will be getting the greyhound bus up to byron bay which should take around 13 or 14 hours. We're going to spend 2 nights there which should be good and hopefully i will either book or do my skydive and bungee jump (sorry if you read this mum.. i know you didnt want to know!). After byron we're headed up to the gold coast for a week or 2 then ill be coming back to sydney to look for a job so everyone keep their fingers crossed for me and ill update you all again soon :D

Sue (mum) yes I did read the bit about the skydive - that's a new one I thought bungee jumps were bad enough. can't you just stick to swimming with Sharks??? we really would like you home again in one piece so be careful. Lol. xxxx
