First off I forgot to put something really important in my last blog that happened. While me and Abi were at dreamworld I fed baby kangaroos by hand! It was so cute! Theyre really fluffy and let you really play with them. we also saw a mummy kangaroo with a joey in her pouch. There was also a tiger show at the park where we saw tigers jump 10m and climb trees and everything!
So back to things ive been doing more recently.. On Sunday me and abi were trying to work off our hangovers so we didnt really do very much as you can imagine! But on monday we went to White Water World which is the water park attached to dreamworld (the theme park we went to). It was good but once you had been on the rides there wasnt much to do. My favourite ride was where you get into a capsule and they close you in, count you down and then the floor disappears from underneath you and you do a near vertical drop into the ride! Was scary but so good. We also went on Australias first hydro-something water ride... (it goes uphill!) Then in the evening we went into town, for a change, but i had an early night and headed back to go to bed!
Tuesday and wednesday were pretty sucky as it rained quite a bit so other then heading to the beach when the sun did pop out or going into town to have a look round the shops we didnt do very much. On thursday me and another girl from my hostel Sally went into town and found the best shop ever! Its a pet shop that you can go into and there are dogs in the window that you can go and pick up and play with! I actually fell in love :)
Then on Friday me and sally went over the marina and went to a massive shopping centre called australia fair which was really good but we got quite lost as there were 3 different buildings and youd think they would be right next door to eachother, but that would be too easy! Then in the evening I met up with Reis who I went to primary school with for dinner! Was really nice to see him again and we went to broadbeach (another part of the gold coast, just up from surfers paradise) for dinner so I got to see a new place too.. Was so good!
Which brings me to today. The sun was out properly today and it reached 32 degrees (its a hard life i know!) so me and sally decided not to sit round the hostel but we didnt really want to go to the beach so we headed to another complex about a 10 minuite walk away and snuck in to use their pool (and a very nice pool it was!). I might need to make a habit of this as it was a really good place to sunbathe and the pool was actually really good! Then we headed into town for a while before coming back to the hostel for a movie marathon :)
Now I have a confession.. I started this blog about a week ago but never finished writing it so Ive actually forgotten from day to day the things that I've been doing :( But I can tell you the most important things!
Firstly, Abi has abandoned me and has sorted her life out and headed up the coast to work (I should take a leaf from her book!) Then I left Surfers Paradise and headed back to good old Sydney on a very interesting journey! The coach was mean to take 16 hours but in the middle of the night our bus broke down in the middle of nowhere with no street lights and because the battery had died the lights on the coach went off! ( it was like something from a horror movie!) So in the end the journey took around 19 hours, but i made it and that the most important thing :)
When I arrived back to Sydney I went to the work and travel offices to lwt them know I was back and to try and sort some work out, They gave me work there and then! I worked in awarehouse for 2 days stuffing cushions into the covers and got paid $25 an hour! Such easy work! Then on Thursday night I took my RSA exam (Responsibility of Serving Alcohol) and passed which is good! So then on Friday I worked at a convention centre as a waitress and pretty much did nothing and still got paid!
In my room in Sydney now there is a girl called Laura and we have been mooching around together since she got here and yesterday and today we went to a place called Paddy's Market which is a massive indoor market, about 5 minutes from the hostel, and have been bagging ourselves some bargins! I brought the most gorgeous top im sure you'll all be glad to know!
So tomorrow I will be trying to find an appartment for the next 2 months and then Tuesday I will be getting the ferry over to Manly (hopefully it will be sunny because it rained today (and yes im very aware it sunny at home!)) to hacve a lay on the beach and top up my tan, which is pretty non-existant right now, and maybe heading to ocean world so I will let you all know about that in a few days or so!
