I have so much to put in this blog.. I hope your ready for a long read!
So on friday night we had the pub crawl which was a good laugh, most of the group dressed up in army fancy dress and made absolute fools of ourselves but it was fun!
Saturday we had the day to do as we chose so some of us girls decided to go to the zoo so we took a ferry across from the harbour bridge to Tarronga. Tarronga is a small island just off of circular quay, the ferry take you directly past the opera house and the harbour bridge which was beautiful! It was so hot though! The zoo was amazing, there were baby elephants and my favourite... Meerkats!
In the evening we stayed in the hostel and just hung out which was cool.
On sunday we had a harbour cruise and luckily the weather held out! We went the whole way round the harbour including under the harbour bridge. We also went swimming in a little cove and had a bbq on the boat. Then in the evening I decided to stay in (the lack of sleep caught up with me!)
Then we get to monday.. SURF CAMP! I had the most amazing time at surf camp! We had 2 surf lessons 2 hours long each day so we got a lot of practice in! I will admit im not exactly a pro surfer but I caught some good waves and managed to stand up a fair bit (pictures and videos will be added to facebook soon). The insutuctors were all so much fun, even if they did make fun of our accents all the time, and really made me want to surf again!
On the second night of surf camp we decided to go to the local 'pub' which turned out to be a local fishing club with 3 other people in at the time! We had a few drinks and decided to go to the beach for a bit after, then being silly and having had a few drinks we went swimming. It wasnt until the next day that I found out that sharks feed at night, needless to say we didnt go swimming at night again!
The following day surfing we were all aware that the instructors had surf boards which they didnt normally have. Then we realised there were sharks out and about! There was a 2.5 metre tiger shark around 30 metres from where we were surfing (it didnt stop me surfing though!), it was amazing!
Which brings me to last night! St patricks day! It was the last night of surf camp so we all got brought back to the city and had some free beer and pizza, and when that ran out more beer..
And finally this morning I had my orientation to work and trvale and got all of the information that I need for my trip and have been given so much advice! I applied for 2 jobs so fingers crossed! And tonight Me and Abi are off the opera house to see it all lit up and take a wander inside which should be good :D
