Next morning we woke up late, had breakfast and said bye to Oskar and Marcus, We were told we could get a bus (coach) to Perhentian Islands (a place that Maria had told us was paradise so we decided there instead of our original plan to Penang) However, the bus there only travelled at night from a different bus station. So we went there only to decide that we didn't want to wait all day so closed our eyes and put our finger on the map. After failed attempts to even hit a place in Malaysia, we decided Lumut looked good, so we were told we had to go to BACK to the previous bus station to get the bus from there. We finally bought a ticket and got our our bus, only to realise that we must have chosen the the crappiest bus company there was was as it was no way near as nice as the others! 4/5 hours to Lumut. Arriving at night was prettyscary as we were once again looked at like we were aliens! We found hotel Galaxy and booked in there. Food + bed.
Next mornign we booked the boat over to Pangkor Island and found a hostel there for the night. We set out to the beach and after giving up walking half way as the heat was unbearable, we flagged down a taxi. Once we got there it looked like paradise! After an amazing swim in the turquoise sea and swinging on the tree swings we decided to go to the next beach to do some activities. After taking direction off a local we decided to follow a dirt track around the coast which was apparent;y 15 minutes walk. So we set off, sometimes walking along the rocks and back onto the path. It led us to some little shack which looked inhabited. The path didn't seem to carry on anywhere and there were no more roclks to walk over we looked at the map and saw the road was just through the trees. So we headed upwards. As we went further the trees and bushes got thicker and we were getting scratched as nearly every plant had spikes on them! Being our typical selves we refused to turn around and go back the way we had come, despite feeling dehydrated, worried and completely lost! As we started to panic we went faster, reached the top and sat, not knowing what to do as there was clearly no road close by! We were dripping with sweat at this point and covered in cuts and bites as i was only wearing a bikini, sarong and flipflops!! We hardly had any sunlight as the trees were so tall, the Shevs thought she could see the sea. So, knowing we had to carry on we started going down the other side as that was the only way to go!
More scratches, spikes and falling down we thought it was never going to end an we wouldn't ever make it out! Finally we heard the sound of the sea and headed towards it. When we got to the rocks we saw a beach and PEOPLE! It was such a relief! We had to climb over huge rocks which was even worse as our flip flips were slipping and the sun was beating down on us as it was the hottest part of the day! It really was like a film! We finally made it to the nearest building which was probably the most expensive, fancy looking hotel ever! We stumbled up there and collapsed onto chairs and asked for the largest bottle of water they had!
After vowing never to listen to anyone's directions again and hydrating ourselves again we didn't want to waste the day so decided to go snorkelling on this smaller island that we got a boat to. It was amazing as we were just surrounded by tropical fish!
We went back to the hotel, slept and woke up very early the next day to catch the boat back to the mainland, Lumut and caught a coach back to KL.
Arraved back in KL, did some shopping and went to bed. We woke up te next morning and chatted to two new girls, Lyndsay (Canadia) and Canelle (half French) Lyndsay was a really nice girl and has been teaching in Seol in South Korea like Maz.
After wasting our time on the internet until our flight, we then took the tram and coach to the airport, boarded our flight and set off to Vietnam.
