World Trip 2005-06
The certificate reads
'Andrew Brides/Walton has successfully joined our adventure package into Taman Negara, the world's oldest rainforest 125 million years old located in the state of Pahang Dural Makmur of Peninsular Malaysia on the 16th to 18th Dec 2005. '
Thats the second certificate i have been given so far on my travels. My talents are getting awarded all over the place. 1st for my scuba skills and 2nd for my ability to sign up for package deals. what next?
The tour lasted three days and 2 nights. To get to Tamen Negara we took a three hour boat trip up the middle of the rainforest, it was so comfortable and chilled. That night we did a jungle night walk but as we didnt have any torches we struggled a bit!!! we just had to look at the guides torch. It was pretty interesting though, highlights include glow n the dark mushrooms and a massive cricket.
The following day we enjoyed a Canapy walk though the forest, scaling the hight of the massive trees, 45 meters from the ground. Next up was a trip to meet and greet the rainforest natives. These guys were basically living in the jungle, using its natural resources to live. They showed us how they started fires and killed animals in the jungle. we both had a go at firing arrows through bambo shoots, brides was bang on target but i was way off. Interesting vibe though. Finally we shoot the rapids of the river flowing through the jungle before returing to our base for the night.
The next day we set off back to KL to hit up the legendary Wheelers guest house for one night before embarking on our journey down to Singapore and Bali for Christmas day!
