Rodeo..!!!
We had a seven hour drive over to Tibaburra for their annual Gymkhana and Rodeo. We camped for the week, it was so much fun. Ellen and Sam went and a few other friends. They had an awesome country band playing on the Friday night, we all did a lot of dancing. On the Saturday they had the Gymkhana, I didn't ride in the end, I wasn't fussed and it was around 40 degrees. So I stayed in the shade and watched with a few too many cold beers. The rodeo on the Sunday was amazing, but not a chance I would have a go. They even had boys as young as 13 having a go.
We travelled back on the tuesday, I spent most of the Monday asleep recovering.
Tim was so tired driving back, so I drove his ute back and everyone else went in the car with the horse trailer. I drive a lot slower as I'm still not completely use to the dirt roads. They were a while ahead, and I ended up getting a flat tyre. Oops. I tried using the radio but it didn't seem to work. I finally managed to get onto Bec and they had to drive back to rescue me. Luckily they were only 20k away. They didn't mind at all and Bec was so relived I was ok and not panicking being on my own. I think I may have to have a lesson in changing tyres. It happens a lot out here. Other than that, it was a brilliant weekend. Bec and I even had an outback bath in one of the horse troff.
The next rodeo were going to isn't until next April so I have a while to wait. Maybe I'll compete in that one. But I was more than happy watching everyone else.
I'v booked my flight to Cambodia for the middle of January, £160 absolutely buzzing. Bec has asked me if I'd like to come back here to work after Asia as she's really happy with what I do. I was planning on going home for a while after Asia but I don't want to throw away this opportunity, plus I absolutely love it out here, so I'll be coming back after Iv been to thailand with Sami in April. Im not sure how long I'll stay until, probably January and then I want to travel the east coast. I'll still have a few months left on my visa so I may go live in Sydney for a while, or Melbourne. See what's happens.
