So we arrive back in Melbourne to a call from Mike (Stephs second cousin in Tasmania!) pleading us to come back to Hobart as he missed us so! Our original plan was to head up to Byron Bay for some sun, but we scrapped it for some Forest Road action! After a plane delay as it was too hot to take off (you've gotta love the Oz!) we touched down late on Daves birthday (Stephs other second cousin!) calling for some icecream cake and party hats! The bad news came when Mike informed us that Kim and Ian (the rents!) didn't know of our return - and were off on the boat for the next few days so we went to surprise them in Coles Bay. We knew they'd love it- Kim wanted to adopt us anyway :) ! Saw a gi-huge stingray swimming round our feet, it stuck its barb out of the water and we took that as a warning to back off!! Steph also had a moment at Clifton Beach, when some serious wave catching was disturbed by a face to face encounter with a jellyfish - that was the end of the swimming for us! Horror struck the day before Kim and Ian returned - a 1 in 50 year storm hit Hobart (to us Brits it was pitiful!). Water started pouring in from the walls and doors - it got worrying when it started coming through the light switch, needless to say we had to turn off the power, which led to an afternoon of pictionary and the boys cleaning out the gutters in their swimming shorts - hilarious! We feel the need to mention at this point, we have been having some problems in the bedroom....Robyn has taken to sleep talking, sleep laughing and singing, comments include- you're evil! and some mutters about people on a boat - very strange, and rather disturbing for Steph at early hours of the morn! We hate to big up the aussies, but we have been introduced to a rather awesome idea ' toss the boss' ! Basically you order a round, then flip a coin to decide whether you pay for it or not! A good game but Steph was the only one who lost :( ! So Australia day came round - what a blast!! Robyns input - BBQ lamb kebabs, Stephs input - an english trifle! Both went down well! Lots of goon (wine with a tap for $7!), and an inflatable life raft later we were well away- leading to Ronan renditions - we think our hidious drunken voices ruined that one!! Made a trip to the Cadburys factory but were dissapointed at the lack of free samples, but a good visit apart from the borrowed shoes - it was P.E all over again ew! 3 weeks, and many a late night chat later, we've become quite close to the Tassies and were sad to leave. We think Mike loved having us there, apart from the one time we embarassed him by pimping up his friends 21st birthday present with ribbons and bow galore, sorry Crikey! Now back in Sydney, staying in a hovel (the worst one yet) seriously debating a night in the Hilton for Robyns birthday as we have serious concerns about bed bugs :-S. More from us in New Zealand, miss you all - see you in 8 weeks x.x.x.x.x.x
