On MOnday March 4, we left Bensalem, PA around 620 am for the trip to Durham, NC. Our plan was to visit the Burrus family (Dan's sister, Teri, and her husband, Jordan, and their three children, 12 yr old Tatiana, 6 yr old Amare and 3-1/2 yr old Selena. We had an uneventful trip (some drive time in Philly on I-95) to Durham. Google directions were not terrific - it directed us to make a right turn in Durham over RR tracks - but there was a frieght train that refused to move... so we called Teri who gave us better directions from I-85... we got to their apartment complex around 330 pm. Teri's husband, is a Durham police officer and is also the "security person" for the apartment complex - which allows him to have overnight guests for free at the guest apartment for the complex, located directly under theirs. Teri treated us to a delicious lasagna dinner. Unfortunately, Jordan was on the job from 6pm-6am Tuesday so we saw little of him. We spent the evening with Teri and the kids - they are so much fun! On TUesday, Teri got the three kids off to school with enough time to take the photo published here. We had breakfast at a local eatery called Brig's. After Teri returned from school drop offs she took us on a tour of Durham to see downtown Durham (gentrification has created many great breweries, restaurants, art galleries, etc), Duke Univ itself, and the Duke Botanical Gardens. We were lucky to spend time wth Teri - hadn't seen her or Jordan since Lauren and Dan were married in Sept 2007! Tati was six yrs old, , Amare - seven months old ...and Selena wasn't even born yet! Teri was a great tour guide!!
