Let me first say this about our hotel - clean, yes and a decent hot breakfast and a great looking lobby.... after that we are fairly disappointed with the worst mattresses ever and a terribly put together bathroom. Good thing there is a giant jet tub in the main room, because the tub in the bathroom has a faucet at one end and a drain at the other, so in terms of a bath, you either get a faucet in the back or a drain in the bum. The shower head hangs on with caulking and the caulking around the sink looks like a monkey did it. There is no towel bar and a giant white plastic toilet plunger beside the toilet - which is just nasty in my books. The taps are in holes which were drilled too far back from the sink, so you have to rub your hands against the back of the sink to get any water on them AND the toilet runs constantly. Mattresses - these are a big deal for us. The beds at the Best Western in Freeport, Maine were awesome. These ones are garbage. If you lay too close to the edge, the edge collapses and you roll off. Instead of a nice cushioning around your body, the mattress bends and creates a large v shape. Basically, we each clutched a child in each bed to stay in the middle so no one would roll off and we slept in hard v shaped craters. James got peed on and I got kicked in the head all night....need I continue about how much the beds bite? The girls were very excited today to go to the "Cake Boss" bakery today where each of the kids got an autographed water bottle and a cupcake. The bakery was stuffed full of delicious looking creations and i regret not buying some of the chocolate covered strawberries. The bakery was bustling with activity and the kids had fun. Parking was perfect and there was no line up to get in! We then drove out to Hope Township and visited the Swayze Cemetery where my ggggg grandparents are buried, as well as my gggggg grandfather along with many Swayze ancestors. It is a small cemetery on private land, and after knocking on the door of the house we thought owned the land, we received no response and so cautiously we ventured in. Lots of very old stones from the 1700's and on, most were broken or falling over. It was fortunate there was no snow on the ground and we had a great look around. We felt fortunate to find an Olive Garden on the way back to our hotel where we loaded up on scrumptious soup, salad, and breadsticks - why can't we have an Olive Garden in Dartmouth??? We then tortured James with a stop at Target, so we could look at all the grocery items we don't have in Canada. Back at our hotel for the night where we may or may not be able to watch Netflix (which frustrates me as to why there is such a discrepancy between the selection in the States and the selection in Canada) as the Internet speed at this hotel is frightfully slow. We are booked on the noon shuttle to our cruise ship tomorrow :)
