Arrival in Mendoza
The 14-hour overnight journey to Mendoza didn't quite lire up too expectations after the last bus journey from Iguazú to BA. The food was vile, we only had flat 7-up to drink and the TV was a wire hanging from the roof. Although the contrasting views of the snow capped Andes mountains against the baron desert in the backing sun we pretty special.
We cautiously entered Mendoza bus station and promptly got a taxi out after hearing a few stories of robbery etc, but to us it seemed pretty fine. We joined forces with a fellow Brit, Chris, and found possibly the best hostel in Mendoza in a really good location amongst numerous restaurants and bars. Although whilst the hostel was nice enough, they had no double rooms available which meant we stayed in a dingy 8-person dorm, with only a wall portion which prevented it from being a 16-persion dorm. And the one fan on each side did little other than moving hot air around the room which was unbearable on the first night. That said the worlds biggest and tastiest cut of steak that looked pretty similar to a tree trunk made up for it!!!
