Rise and shine! The sun was out, I checked myself in the mirror - I looked tanned... well more tanned than the day before, Sarah was winging (in a cute way) for me to go to the shop to get us breakfast, I agreed and trekked all of 100 yards to the shop and got two hot dogs, of course I smothered them in tomato sauce, I also got a bag of raisin buns and a pot of Nutella, our kid loves Nutella. The joy on her face when she discovered it could only be likened to a kid on Christmas morning. We got up and our plan of action for the day was to hire out a kayak and sail the seven sea's in it. We walked up the beach trying to find one furthest to the edge of the beach as there was a tiny island about a quarter of a mile off shore, we found one, 100 Baht per hour. We loaded our bag in the boot (a small concave area to put stuff, not really a boot). Sarah was first to get in and as she sat down in it a massive wave broke over the kayak, she was sodden, I laughed but then had to sit down in a bath of water at my end (it was a double kayak), we set off, the sun felt more powerful in the ocean as there was no shade. We paddled for about ten minutes and looked around... we hadn't gone far at all. This made Sarah start to moan like stink, 'I know your not paddling back there, I am doing all the work, you have got to put your paddle in the water' I calmly replied 'I will put my paddle in your face should you not chill out and nobody would even see me do it' this made her laugh and there was only the odd moan from that point onwards, we approached this tropical haven that we were aiming for and washed up on the beach which was beautiful. There were a couple on the other side of the beach (it was small anyway) with no boat, dry clothes and towels. We were very confused as to how they got there, about five minutes after we got there a jet ski bounced across the waves on the route we had just taken to our beach in about 30 seconds, they jumped on the back and wizzed back, 'why didn't we do that?' I asked, 'I don't know' was the reply, oh well we had made it and now this island was ours (not literally, I didn't have a flag for claiming it for one, I mean there was no one else there). We went in the sea and I headed for some rocks as I thought there would be fish around them, there was sod all there apart from sandy water, it looked lovely and blue from the surface but you couldn't see half a foot down. We then decided to see if there was a beach on the other side of this island, there was and it was nicer than the first. We docked again and pulled the kayak on the beach, we tool a few photo's and I said 'I have always wanted to go in the sea in the nud' Sarah dared me to do it, and before I knew it I was running to the ocean flapping around like an elephants trunk, I jumped (fell) in and it was good, I looked round and there was Sarah also running to the sea starkers, this was fun. We swam for about five minutes and I was no longer flapping as the sea was chilly, we got back in the kayk and headed back for Koh Samui which seemed far away. About half way back Sarah said she was too tired to paddle any more and stopped, the waves were sending us all over the place and I said 'I might as well swim as I am that bloody wet' this made Sarah think I wasn't having a good time and that she needed to make me go in the sea (I am terrified of deep water when you can't see the bottom, especially when every restaurant has a whole shark in ice outside which is caught in this water), I said 'well you don't dare, do you bird?' she jumped in, however the boat went which ever way it wanted and Sarah got further away, she crashed about in the waves papping it because I may have said I had seen a shark.... and that they can detect the thrashing of a human in the water from over seven miles away as they think it's an injured animal and an easy dinner... and also that they can swim at over 70 mph so it would only take one 1 minute to get here... if it was even seven miles away, 'get the boat back here and help me'. I did in fact then, out the goodness of my heart, paddle backwards to get her. She climbed in and did see the funny side, it was a long old slog back to shore and I felt like Sir Steven Redgrave as we approached land, the sea was calmer toward the shore but as we were only 10 yards from the beach a wave caught hold of us and spun us sideways and smashed us into the sand, it was brilliant. I was pleased to be back though, we walked back along the beach and up to Rizzant Bungalows, we dived in the pool to rinse off the sea water then went upstairs to eat lunch that we had brought from the shop on our balcony, I changed into a pair of shorts and hung my wet swimming shorts out on the balcony (which was a balcony but also a walk way to other rooms), we ate up, I went back into the room to put my swim shorts on and realised they were on the balcony still, I pulled my t-shirt down over my equipment and nipped out to get them, two second job I thought no one would see me, as I ran outside I felt two little hands shove me out and a giggle, with that the door shut and clicked locked. O.k so I was outside with my k*** out for the second time in a day, after I begged Sarah to open the door and eventually she did, it then occurred to me that all the time I was out there I had my shorts in my hand. Anyway it was beer o'clock and I went to the shop for two beers and crisps. We then Skype'd for a while and lay around the pool until it was starting to cool. Dinner was on the cards and we thought that if we came away from the sea it maybe a little cheaper, it wasn't but still was reasonable, we found a busy Thai restaurant and settled down in there, they had ESPN and the football was on so that entertained me for a while. We ate and then booked tickets to Koah Sok our next destination, it was 600 Baht each and involved an eight hour journey, all booked for the eighth of Feb. We then went back to the room to watch The Inbetweeners on Youtube, as it loaded the internet crashed so that burst that bubble. Early night it was and was asleep for about ten.

Sarah Aw the Nutella - thank you :) that pic of me with it with a huge grin on my face says it all really! I honestly did not think you were paddling! When we got to the island it said 'no trespassing' everywhere! We were a little scared! When we took pics on that naked beach i got covered in ants when i put my camera on that bit of wood and then for some reason you hated lying in the sand (see pic!). I was so scared in the sea when i jumped out that kayak! Meanie! How embarrassing when we came crashing into shore - i think we got tipped out the boat! Oh and we left our belongings at the hotel when we went out - all out belongings - and he just put it in an open room! We were worried! Was this also the day of 'bad debt, bad debt, you brimstone beast' at the bird on the hotel balcony - much to the surprise and confusion of the other hotel guests?!
