Rich & Beths World Tour
Hi everyone
We are now back in Chiang Mai having done our 3 day jungle trek - it was really quite amazing - we had such an incredible time. There were 9 people in our group, Rich and I, 2 Germans and 5 Dutch who all spoke English (luckily for us!) We had a great tour guide who called himself Ronaldo to wind us English up!!
We Deeted ourselves up and headed into the jungle looking like professional jungle trekkers (sort of!). Day one was really challenging - we had some really steep climbs and in the heat we all got very sweaty. The climb was definitely worth it though. The scenery was beautiful - so green and natural and unspoilt. We arrived at our tribe village where we were going to spend the night in a bamboo hut. It was incredible to see how resourceful these tribes were - making a life for themselves with no electricity, gas or communication with the outside world. Our evening ended with a lovely home cooked curry and some song singing around the camp fire.
On day 2 we trekked to some waterfalls and went for a swim - very refreshing and lots of fun. On our last day we went elephant riding, white water rafting (something I've always wanted to do) and bamboo rafting. We enjoyed all three activities.
Over the last couple of days we have met some really cool travellers and have shared many stories and tips learned so far.
Tomorrow is our last day in chiang Mai and then we head to Vietnam. We shall arrive in Hanoi on 10th August (my Birthday!!
We shall update from there
Lots of love Beth and Rich
