Unfortunately we lost this weeks photos when transferring them from the memory card, and Larissa hadn't taken many this time!
Snorkelling was enjoyed by everyone on the Ningaloo Reef. Some in the National Park at Lakeside, and Turquoise Bay. The strong currents were a bit quick to look at the fish and coral for any length of time.
We enjoyed a boat cruise at Coral Bay, viewing the coral and fish. Kelly was just the right height to see out throught the glass, and spotted 2 turtles. It was a bit windy, so viewing was a little stirred up, and swimming a little cold. Kelly even had a go snorkeling at Coral Bay, holding onto her noodle, where it is nice and sheltered in the bay. There isn't much beach when the tide is in. Richard found a frisbee - having to dive to retrieve it.
Warroora Station was less crowded than Coral Bay. We stayed at the beach just behind a sandhill to avoid some of the wind. It was windy the first night, and our caravan survived better than the next door camper trailer. Our canvas bed ends were flapping and very noisy. Being a bit cold for swimming, the kids made the most of their "sand" time, and made some elaborate sand structures - joined by Richard.
We had our car booked in for a service at Carnarvon, which just left us with a small hold in our pockets - would hate to pay for any major work!
Today we drove just north of Carnarvon to view the blowhole at Point Quobba. It is a rugged coastline, and of course very windy! On the way up to the lighthouse hill, someone informed us there were whales off shore, which we watched them play as they swam north. Mostly we saw fins, a few tails, and a couple come right up out of the water.
On towards Geraldton tomorrow, and then homeward bound.
