Up and out early 07.00 start so no time for breakfast. I have the same driver as yesterday (Dadi - I think his name is but not sure as he mummbled it). I hHave been warned the trip out could take upto 2.5- 3 hours but my luck must have been in as we arrived at 8.40 and only to find that the park did not open until 9am. If I left half hour later we would have hit the peak traffic and could have taken 3 hours. Just before the park I bought some carrots from one of the many stall lining the road. Although there were other cars waiting on the roadside for the gates to open we were able to be first through the gates and headed straight to the OPEN SAFARI section. basically you drive around a path and go through different sections were the animals are raoming. This was definately worth the drive saw heaps of different animals and got some great photos. The carrots did not last long even though i was trying to make them last and had more than one animal trying to get its head into the car for seconds.
After the safari section there was a park section with rides, most of the rides were under maintainence or closed for the day but I did have enough rides the day before anyhow. I went and looked at heaps of other animals and even timed it to see the sealion show and later the dolphin show where I was able to get my photo taken with one. I walked to see a waterfall which took alot longer than expected but was quiet good. After having a late lunch I was about the head back to the hotel when I remember that there was a baby animal section and thought I would give it a quick look as it was located near the gate. This was very good and I was able to get some photos with a lion cub, baby orangutan plus a full grown lion (I was very nervous when this photo was taken).
The trip back to the hotel was uneventful but still took just over 2 hours. After a swim and a quiet beer or two in my room decided to head out to a different section of Grand Indonesia. SKYE bar is located on the 56 floor and although not cheap (by Indonesian standards) offered stuuning views and it was nice to chill out have a few drinks, a nibble to eat and read my book.
