Day 2:
Had an OK sleep in the Mövenpick, though my body clock is still out and woke up about 5:30. Thank god I put some TV shows on the iPhone - The Inbetweeners and Luke Nguyen's Vietnam and watched those a bit.
Got up eventually, had a shower, packed and checked out - left my bags there though.
Got some pastries from the place next door to where I had dinner last night - they were not 100% fresh - but ok I guess still..
Went to the Hai Lo prison (Hanoi Hilton) and took a tour around it - cost about 50c. Was interesting seeing history from colonial, revolutionary times in the '50s, American PoW exhibit, guillotine, etc.
After that walked up through Noan Kiem district and lake again and had coffee at an Illy espresso place, then lunch at Pho 24.
Went back to the Mövenpick, picked up my backpack and walked to the Van Mieu Hotel and checked in about 4pm.
Met the guide - Ha - others from the Interpid tour at 6pm - is FAR different to what I expected. There are 11 of us and I think I'm the youngest.. Disappointing in a way perhaps as was expecting a broader age mix.
After the initial meeting, we all went to dinner at Quan An Ngon - coincidence again :) - and afterwards the others picked stuff up from Nguyen Son bakery.
