Day 14:
Arrived finally - train was late getting into Saigon - about 6am. We went to hotel, quickly went to our day rooms and had a quick shower and left at 8am to goto Cu Chi tunnels.
Because of the crazy traffic it took over 90 mins to get there.
Once there we started to look around there was a video and model presentation.
Had a shot on the Carbine rifle on the shooting range - 10 bullets cost đ200k - was a bit loud..
Some guys got over 2M worth on the machine gun..
Went into one of the tunnels - was quite cramped - hunching over was too much after 10-20 mins - had to crawl instead.
Had some warm cassava root dipped into peanuts as a mid morning snack with some type of tea drink - not sure what it was..
We left Cu Chi just after noon and got back around 1:30 where we checked into our rooms. I got a deluxe room on 7th floor because I wasn't happy with the original ones - one of the day rooms with no windows etc..
We went to have lunch at Pho 2000, which is where Bill Clinton went to in Nov 2000.
After lunch we took a cyclo tour and went to the War Remnants Museum for about 90 mins. Quite graphic and sad imagery there on massacres, Agent Orange effects, etc
At 5pm we continued the cyclo tour and saw the Reunification Palace, cathedral, opera house, etc and took us back to the hotel.
Had dinner with Ha - went to the place where the farewell dinner will be tomorrow and after off to bed early..
