We arrived into Wellington and went straight to bed after our boring ferry journey.Next Day ventured into the city centre where we got a coffee and waited on the Te Papa museum to open as they had a scottish heritage exhibition on. It was realy interesting to see how proud some kiwis are of their scottish heritage. We then drove on up to Napier and decided to have some time off to relax. We had been travelling for 3 months solid by this point on deprived sleep and sometimes driving up to 600km a day. Had a drink (not as good as wine in Australia) and had a relaxing night before exploring Napier the next day. It was destroyed by an earthquake and has been redone up as an art deco city. Very pretty. We popped into a marine centre and saw some fairy penguins, seals and some other sea birds before heading up further to explore the rest of the North Island.
