Swimming with dolphins was great fun although it was a rough day at sea so swimmign was difficult. The water was so cold. We were wearing dry suits but was still so cold. We were hyperventilating so bad but got used to it after a while. We found a huge pod of dusky dolphins and they were very curious and playful. i went in twice but Rich managed to go in 4 times and swam around them. The crew on the boat told us to entertain them so it was quite amusing to see people trying to make noises through their snorkels and make funny body shapes. Was a fantastic experience but would definitely love to do it again maybe on a calmer sea as was so difficult to snorkel with water going inside your snorkel. Looking a wild dolphin in the eyes is definitely an experience not to be forgotten. Richard had 3 swimming around him mesmorised by him which is just a fantastic experience.
After spending some time in Kaikoura (had the best fish and chips ever there) we then headed up to Picton to catch the ferry to the North Island. We got there early and found a scottish pub - They Flying Haggis. Wqas like being back at home. Tartan bar with the proclaimers at full blast and lots of irn bru hehe. So it was then up to the ferry which is along 3.5 hours of boredom. We arrived into Wellington that night.
