We had a lazy day today and got up a bit later and went to a lovely cafe for brunch. We then took a wander down the main street to have a look at all the touristy shops and restaurants there. We were up early this morning to catch our ferry to Langkawi. The journey took around 3 hours and so we were at our guest house by mid-day after a short taxi ride. It's a lovely place, very basic but just right for our needs! There is an honesty bar which is a lovely touch and a little plunge pool. Our third day in Georgetown and what a day! We went to Cheong Fatt Tze's mansion in the morning and it was spectacular. Our guide was amazing and made the tour really fun and informative. There was so much to see and so much history behind the house. The mansion's floor plan is essentially Chinese and many of the features of it are based on the concepts of feng shui. Today we wanted to go to visit a famous Chinese bloke's mansion (Cheong Fatt Tze) but as tours are at set times we decided to leave this for tomorrow and head down the street towards all the markets and hawker stalls on Jalan Penang.
