Today we were transferred from Krabi to one of the islands on the Andamen coast, Koh Lanta. It didn't take long and we were soon strolling up the beach after a lovely glass of pineapple juice as a welcome drink provided by our hosts at the Banana Garden Home. The beach is amazing and we're looking forward to some R&R here as well as some cocktails and island hopping trips! Hopefully we'll get an even more beautiful sunset if the clouds lift at the right time ...

We were picked up from our hostel this morning and taken to Ao Tha Lane jetty where we set off on a kayaking expedition of the bays, canyons and lagoons of the area. We were a little unlucky with the wildlife but we still managed to see lots of crabs and a big monitor lizard sitting on a cliff side rock. So it turns the night market is pretty good! We tried Pad Thai and Tom Yam then we had some coconut pancakes (see pic!). We then found the roof top cocktail bar which did a mean margarita and had some great views over the town (remember this place Keith!?). Today we mooched around Krabi, taking in the riverside views and having more Pad Thai, chicken coconut soup and Som Tam (green papaya salad and one of Howellsey's favourite foods). It's a pretty scruffy place ...

So yesterday was a pretty lazy day after the excitement of our island tour and cookery course and we organised ourselves for our onward journey to Thailand. We had a a busy one today! We got up and went to collect our tin can masquerading as a car from down the road. After going to fill it with petrol (which cost £8!) we headed off to the cable car. This was just under 1000 metres long and had good views of the archipelago and the forested hills of the main island and the seven wells waterfall.
