Got hit with a monsoonal storm last night just as were left the hotel for dinner. Got soaked by the time we got down the road to the restaurant . Pretty common at this time of the year apparently as we have had another one tonight.

Our day started today still wondering if in this big hotel we are the only customers. Had not see or hear another soul to this afternoon. It's very strange as there is just no one about anywhere.

We headed off early this morning to visit that big statue we could see yesterday in the distance . Turns out her name is Lady Buddha - is 67 meters high and is there to look over the local fisherman. We spent an hour or so wandering around the buildings there before catching a taxi back to My Khe beach. Not many people on the beach despite it being Saturday. We had a nice rest in the shade before heading off to find lunch. It's so humid here so walking around in the heat of the Middle of the day it's tough .

After lunch we headed by taxi over the river to the Chan museum. The Cham people were prevalent around here for about 600 years from the 5th century and they have recovered many artifacts from My Son for the museum.

From the museum we wandered around for a few hours in Danang. So different from Hanoi. Not at all touristy. Couldn't even buy a t shirt here. No stalls no souviner shops - just basically a normal town. But boring when you are a tourist and don't want to buy a washing or a motorbike!!

Had an splurge with dinner and spent $36. Was very nice . Been spending on average $15-$20 on dinner most nights .

Anyway will see what Hue brings tomorrow
