Very early start today at 4.15 to catch a 7am flight to Danang. Only tookabout 75 mins so pretty short flight

We caught a cab to our hotel which is in the My Khe beach area across the bridge from the main part of Danang. My Khe is also known as China Beach and was made famous by the US who came here for their R & R during the war. There was a TV series called China Beach about 20 years ago set during the war too.

Quite isolated around here and very quiet with hardly anyone on the streets. We walked down to the beach for a look around - very humid here compared to Hanoi.

Sea was quite rough but there were still a couple of people in the water. Very deserted in the restaurants all the way along the waterfront. We had lunch at one of them before wandering back. Found a couple of potential places for dinner closer to the hotel.

Tomorrow we will grab a cab back over to the main part of town for a look around. Danang is only a stepping stone for most people on their way to Hue or Hoi An like us so not sure there is really much to see here.

This is quite a big hotel and not seen or heard anyone else here yet either. Very surprised at that . Anyway will see what we can find tomorrow
