From Fraser Station today we headed to Norseman to re-fuel and grab a few groceries. We had to pay for fresh drinking water at the information centre, but didn't mind. Fuel here was $1.36 as opposed to $1.76 - $1.80 across the Nullarbor. We stopped at Kambalda at a free camp for the night on the way to Kalgoorlie. Kambalda is on the edge of Lake Lefroy which is currently dry. The recreational facilities here are amazing. Makes me think a bit of money from the mines has come back to the town. Anyhow founded in 1897 Kambalda is an old gold mining town with many mines still operating both north and south of the town. B-tripple trucks run up and down the highway all day and night. Again wide loads are common and the UHF is invaluable. We were in a V8 Supercar truck sandwhich for a while. I had to text Buddsy to find out where they were going, he tells me Barbagello.
