Well it's been 2 weeks since my last blog and a very busy 2 weeks at that - hence the delay!!
After we dropped off the van we spent a lovely weekend catching up with lots of friends and evans sister and boyfriend which was much needed after 3 weeks on our own.
On Monday 18th June we boarded our flight from London to Dublin arriving around midday. That afternoon we went on a walking tour of the city looking at the main sites and learning about the history of Dublin and Ireland in general! We were staying in a lovely hostel in Dublin so just chilled in the common area that night and watched the Euro!!
The following day after enjoying a well earned sleep in we did a tour of the Guinness storehouse and wandered around the city and did a bit of shopping - you may notice Evan is now wearing some new clothes in the photos :)
After 2 nights in Dublin we ventured onto Galway (just west of Dublin) arriving late afternoon. Our second day in galway was spent on a full day tour travelling through the Burren region to the Cliffs of Moher a truly amazing experience that cannot really be explained with words and photos that do not do it justice!!
After an exhausting day we crashed ready for the 6 hr train trip up to Belfast the following day. On our arrival we were greeted with the heaviest rain and got soaked running from train to our hostel!! We battled through the rain that afternoon on a hop on hop off bus tour although we're advised not to get off as the rain was just too heavy!!
We woke the next morning to clear skies which was a miracle as we had tickets to Aus vs Ireland one dayer and were very much doubting the game would go ahead!! we were very lucky in that the rain held off for about an hr and we saw 2 wickets in 3 balls but sadly we only made it to 10.5 overs! Later that afternoon we went to the new titanic Belfast exhibition which was well worth the money.
It was time for another day trip this time to the north of Ireland to the Giants Causeway, formed by a prehistoric volcanic eruption - again very hard to explain so check out the photos!!
On Monday 25th we jumped on a plane from Belfast to London and went straight to Wimbledon to join the queue for the sleep out to get ticket for the following days play!! The sleep out was great fun aside from sleeping on hard grass and getting woken up at 5am. But so worth it to be sitting in the arena with the famous grass courts!! Another unforgettable day!!
After relaxing in London for 2 days we spent yesterday at Lords - the home of cricket for the Aus v England ODI unfortunately the Aussies lost by 15 runs but was a close game!!
We r now in Madrid and so far it has been amazing!! I will post another blog about our Spain travels soon!!
Lots of love Rhiannon and Evan xxx
