Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well! I have now finished the tour (sad times) and have got my week in New Zealand on my own to explore. Luckily though, I am not completely on my own because a few of the people I've met on the tour are also staying here a bit longer! So three of us (me, Lizzie and Nadia) have just finished planning the next couple of days - we are going to head up to a place called Hanmer Springs, only an hour and a half from Christchurch, and spend a couple of nights there. It's supposed to be pretty cool up there, with thermal pools etc so it will give us a nice chance to relax! I am not flying out of Christchurch until friday so I may go somewhere else after this or perhaps return to christchurch a bit earlier. I'm not sure yet, I'll take it as it comes!
The last few days of the tour were amazing! After three nights in Queenstown we went to Doubtful sounds (in the fiordland national park) for an overnight cruise thing. We had dolphins swimming next to the boat, and we went kayaking too! pretty awesome experience. Our last night was spent in Lake Ohau at this lodge which was pretty much in the middle of nowhere. it was a little creepy to be honest especially since we arrived and left in the dark.
Arriving in Christchurch last night, it was sad saying goodbye to all the people I'd met on the tour. Most people left last night or today. However we did manage to fit in a rugby match last night! The hostel where I'm staying at the moment organised the trip so they took us in a bus and we had really good seats. We had an especially good view of the men warming up, lots of stretches, lol. Today its been really relaxing - about 6 of us who were around here today went for a walk around the city and botantic gardens. There was a saturday market on too and the tempation was to buy lots of things but unfortunately the rucksack ain't got much room at the moment.
Tonight has truly been an internet night. I have been catching up with people which has been lovely but i still haven't found the time to upload any more photos. Hopefully I will try to do that soon!
Until next time...
love to all xxxxxx
