Hi everyone!
Sorry I have not updated this thing in a while...Sydney is just too much fun!!
My 3 day camping trip to Ayers rock was absoultely awesome (very aussie word)! I won't go into detail here as I can tell you all about it when I'm home but lets just say, I'll never moan about toilets or beds ever again! The first night we slept in the middle of no-where in just our swags and sleeping bags, staring up at the starry sky - an incredible experience. I have LOADS of photos and i look forward to showing you all them.
I flew from alice springs to Sydney on Monday - a very bumpy flight as Sydney has been experiencing some bad weather lately. In fact we have had a fair bit of rain the past few days which has been a bit annoying but hasn't stopped me enjoying the city. I was lucky enough to meet my old friend from school, Ashleigh, on tuesday and she showed me round and took me to the main tourist sites! On Wednesday I went on a beach tour which the hostel organised for free. We got to go to Bondi and a few other local beaches. Yesterday I went exploring myself and spent some time with a really kind lady at the hostel travel desk who helped me sort out my bus passes and gave me an idea of how to plan the rest of my trip up the coast. I have booked my first bus, to Byron Bay, for sunday night. it's an overnight bus (mmmm not looking forward to that) but i suppose I'll save on accomodation for the night (its a 12 hour trip). Then last night I booked to go on the 'OZ party bus' - yes i know what you're thinking, sounds like something they would have in Ibiza, and yes it was pretty much like that! A bus (which was hyped up with a dj deck and lights) took you round to 5 bars around the city. But when you were on the bus the party didn't stop - we were told to bang to ceiling of the bus as hard as we liked, mmm slightly random! anyway it was a fun night.
Woke up this morning to find it pelting down with rain - not good to see when you've booked to do the bridge climb! I asked the hostel to ring to make sure they were still running the climbs and yes they were - they only close it when its extremely windy or lightening! I was doing a 'night climb' but since the sun sets early here, i had to start at 3.55pm, and it also takes a while for you to get kitted out etc. Anyway, apart from the rain it was a fantastic experience so thanks Dad and Rachel for recommending it!
Right its 10pm now and im off to make some food before hopefully getting a fairly early night!
Hope you're all well
Love Rebecca xx

Pat Glanville Glad you enjoyed the Ayres Rock tour. Now all members of the Glanville family have acheived the bridge climb, apart from mum. I think I will give it a miss. Well done Beck. Will be thinking of you on your 12hr bus journey! Lots of love Mum xxx
