Hello all!! Havent updated in a while so having a big think about everything I have done since Sufers Paradise.
Ok so I will start from the very beginning a very good place to start...
Byron Bay - we stayed at Cape Byron Lodge which was a great homely hostel and very boho! Byron Bay is really bohemian and full of hippies and just laid back people in general I loved it! Our hostel didnt have a bar which was good because everyone just drank out on the patio together and you got to meet everyone there. On the first night we had a bbq with everyone (free sangria always good) we met Stefan and Julian from France and Tada (obviously now always called tadaaaaaaaaaaaa) from Japan and proceeded to drink most of the free Sangria with them. They were good fun and I cant really remember much else about the evening other than we didnt make it in to town! We got chatting to a few guys from the UK later on, John from Wales (we quickly decided that he should be called Gavin and me Stacey and that I would adopt a Welch accent for most of my conversations with him), Tom from England and a couple of others whose names escape me right now... I know Emma had a drinking challenge with a guy from the Isle of Man! It was all fun and lots of laughs before bed time!
The next day we met up with Cath for lunch and it was lushhhhhhh! Damm I'm actually starving and regret reminding myself of that meal... I'm off to the airport in 40 mins time! We had a look round shops and I made some jewellery in this cool bead shop. That eve Cath came to ours for drinks and basically hang about drinking with the same lot from the night before! It was a bit of a weird one in the end and for some stange reason I ended up going to town at like 2am with some Irish girls I met (turns out the did Fraser Island with Lisa.. how random) and lots of seedy weird people that new the owner of our hostel I swiftly left haha and went back to the hostel where John (Gav) decided to teach me to scateboard and yes I jumped on in flip flops which resulted on me on my arse pretty quickly but it was so fun. We had loads of different room mates in Byron one guy from Holland was really grumpy and kept ssshing me lol! Won him over in the end and he actually smiled by the end of the week... think its cos he wanted to borrow my super adapter that charges everything! We had another roomate called Tom who was so lovely his from Sydney and lost his wallet so he was living on spagetti hoops :( but then he sold a painting he did on the beach and got to upgrade to a name brand tin! happy days! I gave him a tuna sandwich as it was xmas! Then Lauren, Ben and Dave moved in and they were really nice too.
We went to Nimbin for a day and that was sooooo weird but very cool full of proper old school hippies trying to sell you weed cookies and all sorts! We went on the trip with Cath and it turned out Mike and Chris from Sufers Paradise were on the same tour which was great! We also went to a old hippies house which was the strangest thing I ever saw... he literally made a jungle in his back yard... he was a little spaced out! We all had the giggles when he gave us a tour of his garden! He practically threw me across the garden when ants bit his feet.... wear shoes u hippy!! It was a really good tour though and our guide Ivor was halarious telling us stories about all the people that ate too many cookies! He had a sound track for the whole drive including one song that timed the length of a hill we drove down so it was like a rollercoaster! Was a great day.
On the Emma's last dayin Byron we met Cath and her friends Scott, Ziggy and Emma, they were all really nice we had lunch and then me and Emma (two emmas now can get confusing) went to pack her up for her night bus :( dont like to say good bye! After dropping Emma off at the bus stop I went for dinner with Cath and Emma and a guy from their hostel who exited quickly after the meal... too much girl talk haha. We went cheeky monkeys after and it was a good night, Dave and Ben from my dorm came and they were so funny, if I ever see them again I wonder if they will remember our hand shake lol. I also bumped into a couple of girls I met in Airlie Beach and if we are in LA around the same time we may go for a drink or something.
The next day I went to the beach with Emma and Cath and then got packed up to go to Sydney to meet Nat :)
I realise I called this blog Byron Bay and Sydney but now I have a cramp in my hand from too much typing haha so that will prob be coming at ya from Hawaii!
its a hard life! xxxxxxxxxx
