5:00pm Hi All...This is going to be a blog entry in progress becuase I have a few minutes before my Field Program trip leaves. We are in Puerto Rico! This morning was spent clearning customs and distributing 800+ passports to all students, faculty and staff on board becuase the Puerto Rican immigrations officials required a face to face check before the ship could clear. Believe it or not, were were able to accomplish it in under 2 hours. Go SAS S08 RD's!
This morning Leigh Ellen and I ventured out and walked around Old San Juan which was fun. The old town and Fort were nice and the coastline is just beautiful. It felt great just to get out and walk around. We had lunch outside a cute little park and spent the afternoon just talking which did me a world of good.
Now I'm off to go kayaking this evening in a Bioluminescent Bay. Apparently there are only 4 known Bio Bays in the world and 3 of them are in Puerto Rico. Its where the water glows from the phosphorescent organisms but apparently its very difficult to photograph so not sure if i'll be able to get some pictures or not yet. Gotta Run. Be back later!
