Another full day at sea. Today has been a rough one though...the waters are calm but my head is not. It has been a long day and at 7:00pm, I was just outside on deck for the first time. I was lucky enough to be able to catch the last few moments of a beautiful sunset, which was nice.
Let's see...so I missed breakfast becuase of the time change and apparently I failed to set my alarm clock correctly. Not a big deal. Then we had Global Studies, which is the SAS core course that all students, faculty and staff participate in. That was pretty cool actually, we went over some history, cultural and geographical information of this area of Latin America and the Caribbean, obviously focusing on Puerto Rico, our next Port of Call. Next we had our daily At Sea Student Life meeting which lasted several hours...we're still getting acquainted with our jobs! Next I had Desk Duty from 1400-2000 and at 2000 we have our Logistical PrePort Meeting for San Juan. I somehow managed to sneak dinner in there for about 10 min. and see the sunset though...there are always positivies :-)
Smile and keep things in perspective!
The picture posted for his blog is of El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico. I'll be leading a hike there on Sunday afternoon!
I hope everyone at home is doing well. I miss you all very much!
