Ralph & Angela's travels
The photo is of our V8 Landrover Discovery (it's fortunate that petrol is half the UK price)
We've bought an off road trailer which has a huge trailer top tent and awnings that turn it in to something that Colonel Gadaffi could live in. The trailer comes with a fridge (which takes wine bottles, we measured it!), 2 batteries, 2 gas bottles, double bed, double burner stove, water tank and 4 Jerry cans (never get anywhere ahead of the Germans).
We've a 5-hour drive tomorrow to a KwaZulu Natal reserve called Imfolozi, for 4 days walking in the wilderness trying to avoid being eaten by anything or charged by Black Rhino! It will also mean 4 days without alcohol, which will be more of a test than the wildlife!
We are getting acclimatised to the fact that we've gone from UK summer to South Africa autumn/winter. The sun tracks north during the day so when I think I'm looking south it's actually north. It's something we need to get used to though Angela never knew where south was in the UK!!!!! Despite it being winter the temp is around 24-26C during the day, but it is near freezing at night.
New mobile number is 076 588 4704 (if dialling from UK drop the 0 and put 0027 in front).
Thanks for all the best wishes on the message board
Ralph & Angela
