Well, spending our last days in Italy wondering around the streets of Rome. The weather is nice and Liam's not complaining too much. He is actually enjoying looking at the old buildings and he really loved Trevi fountain and wanted to swim in the water!! He threw in a coin, surely he will return one day when he is older. Yesterday we caught up with Raphaella and Franco, Robs cousin in Rome. His house is like a museum, being a retired university lecturer he has collected many artifacts, mostly African carved statues, many priceless and the walls are covered with original paintings and book shelves of over 3000 books! Not a place to spend a lot of time with a 5 year old!! But it was nice to catch with them.
Tuesday - Organised the hotel taxi to the Rome airport, it was quite nice driving out of Rome. Now waiting to set off on 2 days of flying and waiting in transit lounges, with a child very excited to be heading home. Had a 5 hour stop over in Amsterdam, it was amazing on landing seeing everything so neat & tidy compared to Italy's patchwork country side. Walked the transit lounge keeping Liam occupied and controlled & out of toy shops, what a task. We will land in Kuala Lumpur at 3PM Perth time for another 3 hour stop over.
Friday - 20 mins past midnight got into Perth to be met by Rob & Nic, great to see them. Nice to put some warm clothes on, next stop Geraldton.
