Here we are in Rome. Survived the long flight with out to much drama and even managed a little sleep. Liam was really good on the flights. Paris airport where we transferred for Rome, is massive. When we arrived at Rome airport we managed to lug 4 cases, 4 bags, a pram and the child onto the train for station Termini. Then dragged the cases along the cobble stone streets and found our hotel. Just in time as it started to rain and a thunder storm came over. After a sleep we had dinner in a small pizza bar but had to head back to the room due to the rain. Later on the evening Norma and I went out to a small cafe for a tea.
Thurs 28th.
Headed off to do some site seeing. Walked around Villa Borghese, nice park for Liam to run around in. Walking through the streets of Rome every shop has a summer sale on, all the clothes look lovely. Made our way to St Peters, very glad we had the pram for tired little legs!! Tourists enormous, however lines moved fast. Took many photos and took time to take in the magic of St Peters. Caught the metro back to hotel and had a BIG rest. Had tea at a little family restaurant - ottimo - nice food.
Fri 29th.
Rob & I headed off on our own for the day. Walked from Vittoria Emanuel to Colosseum, along the river to the castle of St Angelo, then onto Trevi fountain threw in a coin to make sure I return one day. Took over 150 photos.Got back to the hotel room to find a manic kid and frazzled Nana, she had given him a coffee icecream...big mistake!
