Well I arrived in Siem Reap at 10am on Christmas Day. The flights were fine and as usual I didn't sleep, so felt rather exhausted after travelling for 15 hours, only to find that I had to work as soon as I got here (xmas party for the children). Registered with the project and shown where I'll be staying. It's ok. Clean, with no creepy 8-legged visitors, but there's no hot water and they discourage you from using the air conditioning. So at 2am this morning, I found myself wide awake (thanks, jet-lag), staring at the ceiling, with just a fan for company blowing hot air round the room (it's 37 degrees here today). Nevermind. Won't exactly be spending that much time there anyway. The project is closed for a few days - Christmas holiday for the ex-pats - so starting tomorrow, the 27th. Just sitting at The Villa Siem Reap at the moment, having breakfast. Ham & cheese omlette, a large mug of coffee, and 2 litres of water!
Bye for now.....
