The Munich Fan Club Dear Rachel,I guess this is goodbye! We've felt very close to you over the last six weeks thanks to your blog updates and the photos and we will miss you and your friends in Cambodia.We do hope this is "auf wiedersehen" in the true sense of the word ("until seeing you again") and thank you again for enriching our little self-important lives in such an unforgettable way.Lots of love from C and CPS Craig should probably bring you something rather more duvet-like if the UK weather is anything like the Munich weather...wrap up well. Dad This is a journey of life changing proportions, and in many ways puts into perspective the reasons, why we do, what we do, with the gifts that we are given. Special people like you,( I know that I am biased and pumping with pride, I think that I can sit on the top table with that one), make those of us less fortunate in their endevours to find a fulfilment in life, to give so much of themselves, for those who have nothing in comparison with our way of life, a glimps of pure kindness. and affection, and it is obvious to me that those kindnesses have been returned to you by your reports and photos.

The Munich Fan Club Dear RachelYour blog today made me dissolve in tears. Obviously your dad and I (and probably everyone else reading your diary) are realising that one could take away a large chunk of normal western European lifestyle and it would probably make us all a heck of a lot happier. I am becoming more easy-going by the day, learning what actually matters in this life. I remember myself a few weeks ago complaining bitterly about the warped bonus system at work...and now I look back at it and think "does all that really make a difference to me?".Thank you for finally getting the message across (at least!)! It is not only the children in Cambodia who are benefitting from your experiences there.Talk soon xxx

Dad Hi there to my intrepid adventurer, I don't need to ask how you are getting on It is obvious that you are having the time of your life, looking so relaxed and happy. Cross country power biking, white nuckle train riding, I know we have the same transport here,called public transport, the travelling times might be the same duration, but, delays well with one way line, thats not bad, look at the number a lanes that we have on the motor ways, how we crowd the carrages, no long faces there though, no presure, life it would seem, just takes its time. The Munich Fan Club Dear Rachel,I will be speaking to my "better half" immediately about false representation...You really are having a holiday to end all holidays. I do hope that everyone who is reading your blog realises that a week lounging by a swimming pool is all very well, but in their photos do they really look as happy as you are looking in yours? I would expect not.But as "the better half" pointed out, others would falter. We are desperately proud of what you are managing to achieve, and "corporate life" seems so very very worthless and without any meaning at all (we knew that anyway, but it is just getting rubbed in deeper every time I read your diary).I wonder whether you are feeling maybe a little homesick? As an expat I am starting to realise the things in that "Green and pleasant land" which one could miss. There is something to go back to (obviously your very own "better half" being one of them).Can't wait to hear about it all when you return. C xxx
