This blog now takes you to vietnam, the first place we went to was Ho Chi Minh (siagon) we got here by the night bus from Cambodia and walked and found our hostel we were staying in.
Ho chi minh wasn't as I expected I thought vietnam wouldn't of been anywhere built up like it was. The day we arrived we didn't do much as we were so tired from the overnight bus and lack of sleep but we did go out for dinner to an Indian we saw on trip advisor and it was amazing!.The next few day we went for breakfast and got an amazing pho bo (beef pho) it was off a food stall and we were defiantly being charged way more than the locals but it was so worth it. we then went to the diamond shopping centre to check it out as the tourist attractions were closed for lunch and had some lunch there, we went to KFC and got there cheap vietmenise meal which was a spicy piece of chicken rice and gravy, it was so nice and only like 60p.
That evening we went out for dinner and shared a pizza to save money but we were still hungry and had to grab a baguette on the way back which was amazing it was belly pork and pickled veg with chilli sauce!
the next day we went to the zoo it was only a 25p entrance fee, we went to see the monkeys first and got the gibbons and I took a picture of it and to my disbelief it threw a rock at me it wasn't small either luckily I dodged out the way. In the cage next to him the other gibbon was staring at us and humping the bars so we quickly left that part and looked around the rest of the zoo and saw all the other typical zoo animals. We then were going to go and look at the Ho Chi Minh museum but it started raining so we just grabbed another cheap KFC lunch and headed back. For dinner we realised we had been spending to much money so we went to the baguette women we had been too the night before and got a couple of baguettes they were only 30p each. That night we decided to go for a few drinks and sat on the plastic chairs on the side of the road and had a few siagon red beers for the first time. It was so strange the little red plastic chairs were all facing the road and some in it I had never seen bars like it, when we headed back I felt a bit tipsy but ok but as soon as I got back and a few times in the night I was throwing up and being in a dorm with people it's not nice but at least I made it to the toilet each time, it wasn't because I was drunk though because I didn't really feel that I was and it was the least I've drank on a night out in ages so I decided siagon red doesn't like me and I'm not drinking it again!
I woke up the next morning feel a bit rubbish but one I had showered and got out and about I started feeling a lot better,we went out for breakfast and went to a food stall selling porridge I obviously knew vietnam porridge wouldn't be the same but I never thought it would actually be as discusting as it actually was it was like they had just put rice in water I couldn't eat it and went to the bakery I had been getting some nice banana cake from and got a slice of mushroom pizza which was a million times better! we then went and saw the cathedral and the post office and then went to the refininication palace which is where the king lived during the vietmenise war, which was quite pretty it had nice grounds too. In the evening we went to the cinema to see fast and furious 6 and then went for dinner where we got a beef egg and rice dish which was so tasty. Dave noticed when we were in there all the locals going to get this white dessert bowl so we thought we would try it and it was so good it tasted milky but we didn't know what it really was other than the fact it had soya milk in it, we wished we had got one each!
The next day we were meant to be checking out and moving on but we didn't know exactly where we wanted to go, what route we wanted to take and how long we had in each place so we booked an extra night and spent the whole day doing that and planning our trip and booking the open bus it was 50 US dollars each but included all our travel through vietnam which was good and I spent a while finding out what company was best to use which I found out would be sinh cafe as they had the best reputation so we did it through them. That evening we then went and got a beef and mushroom hot pot that we had to cook ourselves with rice and noodles from the diamond plaza food court it was tasty but takes a while to boil I wouldn't suggest it if you were hungry. For desert we got the soya and bean curd desert again but this time one each it was so nice if I could eat it after every meal I would!
We then went and relaxed as we had to get up early to get our bus to mui ne, we checked out and got the delicious pizza from the bakery for breakfast again and then went to the bus stop and got on.
Love you and miss you all loads xx
