Our bus journey to shinoukville went fine apart from the fact I started to get stomach pains on the bus which I didn't understand because I had only eaten Oreos all morning for breakfast (don't judge me we had an early bus I didn't have time to get breakfast) so I took a couple of Imodium just in case and started to feel better.
We arrived and at shinoukville just after lunch time and got a tuk tuk to oceon walk hotel where we were staying on serindipity beach, which was where the good night life was meant to be.
We went out and had some lunch and the weather was rubbish so we went and had a walk around the area and relaxed in our hotel till dinner time where we went back to the same place for dinner (it was cheap) and then sat in our hotel bar and had a couple of beers and watched the Watford match, it finished just before midnight with a depressing result and we headed to bed as we were tired from the early wake up.
In the middle of the night I started feeling really unwell (I won't go into details) but I still didn't feel great in the morning but we had woken up early to go to the embassy to get our vietmenise visa. We walked to the consulate which took about 40 mins, google maps lied saying 15! And got the visa and walked it back aswel, when we got in the hotel that's where I started feeling even more unwel, so Dave went out and got some lunch for me he ordered us a pizza which we shared and then I gradually got worse and worse and wouldn't eat drink or leave the room so Dave was having to look after me. I did leave the room for 20mins at night to walk across the road for dinner and dave would have his beef lok lak to each which was so good, why i would eat plain steamed rice as my dinner which wasnt fair, but then I would have t go back. I was really ill and bed bound for 3days which sucked because we were right by the beach and the weather was good and I couldn't go out and see any of it! I had never felt that ill in my life I had a fever without a temperature and the worst pains in the world and generally felt crap.
We decided when I felt a little bit better on day 4 to book a trip to koh rong island the next day to stay for two nights as it looked so beautiful but was £20 a night which is a lot mor than the usual 3-4 but if we didn't do it we would regret it. We got picked up in the morning and got the ferry to the island which took 2 hours and when we were pulling up to shore it was beautiful the water was so clear and greany colour it looked like something from a photograph. We found out place to stay at the end of the beach called paradise bungalows and checked in, our bungalow was very basic it was a bed with a mosquito net and a door with a bathroom and outside porch with a hammock and palaces to sit, all you would need. We had electricity from 7pm till 6am and limited rationed water.
The bungalow was open the side walls didn't connect to the ceiling so I was happy they provided the mosquito net so I didn't have to bother trying to set mine up.
We then went out for some lunch as I was starving as I didn't have breakfast as I was still not over the food poising so couldn't risk eating and getting on the boat. We went to cocos resteraunt and treated ourselves to a burger and chips which was amazing but unfortunatly the food poising still hadn't cleared up and didn't do so for a week!! And had a walk along the beautiful beach and went to sunbathe but we realised after lieing there for a while the beach has sand flies and they lay there eggs on you and the Toxins leave each spots on you like Mosquitos but much smaller like an ant bite. So we couldn't handle lieing there so we went in the sea and spent the whole after noon back in there.
That night we went to a pizza place on the beach which had been recommended to us for a couple of beers and dinner where they cooked the pizzas in a clay oven and it was soooo good!
After dinner we headed to coco bar for another beer and to watch the sunset and look out to sea when we could see the resteraunt owners all putting there tables and chairs inside so we knew it was going to rain so we thought we better leave and speed walk back to the hut so we didn't get stuck in it.
The next day we did the same as the previous really just relaxed on the beach, well in the sea and ate at the pizza place again for lunch and coco for breakfast and dinner.
The next day we got the boat back to sihnoukville and got the bus to serendipity beach but we weren't staying there the next few nights we needed to go to otres beach so we went for a quick beer and then got in a tuk tuk and got it to take us to our hostel on otres beach 2 called footprints.
The hostel was lovely the room was basic and clean and the hostel was right on the beach and the beach they had there own private beach with sunbeds. The communal coach area was nice and the tv has thousands of films to choose from, when we got there the weather was rubbish so we got some lunch from the hostel I got a blt and Dave got chicken noodles and we sat of the sofas and watched a few films only moving to have dinner there at night when we got the most tastiest burger and chips ever and then moved again for bed at about half 11 when Thelma and louise finished.
The next morning the weather was nice so we had some breakfast and went and laid on the sunbeds outside and watched the dogs in the sea, the haste had 3 dogs called Bruno, rocky and paccio the owners apparently a boxer hence the names. We didn't meet the owner when we were there it was just two young western couples probably in there late 20's looking after it.
In the afternoon it went from being cloudy to raining again so we sat in and watched films again for the day and just ate all the meals at the hostel because the food was so good on and got a couple of beers each night of course.
The next day wasn't much better it was really cloudy in the morning but we went and sat out by the beach and yet again it rained in the afternoon.
The day after that we were leaving so we checked out in the morning and it was rubbish weather so we spent a bit of the day outside on the chairs and the rest inside, Dave was watching girl with dragon tattoo which Is a book I have on the iPad app so luckly after I ate my dinner and was watching it and it was near the end about to reveal what the whole film was about the man Mae to collect us for our bus so I didn't see the ending! I was dreading getting on this bus all day I really don't like night buses it was the first one I had done the whole trip. We had to get the bus to Phnom Penh and then change buses just after midnight and get on the sleeper bus to Ho Chi Minh in vietnam. The sleeper bus was 2 beds that are kind of like reclining chairs, when we got on there wasn't 2 seats next to each other so I thought I was going to have to sleep next to a Cambodian man which I didn't like the idea of with how anxious I felt, but Dave asked a man if he would mind moving so we could sit together. It took a bit of convincing and the man contemplating it for a while but he did finally move and then off we were moving on to another country, Vietnam!
Love you all and miss you all loads xxxx
