(This picture isn't actually our beach, but same peninsula haha ) last we were feeling so thankful and trusting in our petrol companies......
but NOW we are on Island Paradise.
First we went to Evelyn's Booklaunch, and it was very sucessful and nice to catch up with so many people, met new friends, many who had their own books, so it seems like the thing to do. Evelyn's book sounds like a self help book where you can reach your goals in life AND dress well when you get there. There is no point being sucessful if you cant look sucessful, and I am thinking of Bill Gates when I say that.
Then we had to get a taxi to the Train Station, first taxi RM30... keep walking.... next taxi RM25.......(and I know the fare should only be RM7) KEEP WALKING..... next taxi RM20.......keep walking.... next taxi RM15.... "mummy my legs are tired, can we just take this one?" so we took it but I know if I had just kept walking..........
travelling with a kid..... a whole chapter in itsself, and I might write it sometime.... might even turn it into a book :)
Then a 12 hour train trip up north, 8pm to 8am, I didn't sleep well, but Ayanda did, then 30min walk to bus station (feeling a bit antitaxi, and we walked slow) then 20mins on a local bus (RM2.30 compared to RM25 for a taxi HA) to the ferry jetty "mum where are the fairies?" then a hour long Ferry child vomit fest (poor Ayanda) and a Taxi (cant escape them no matter how much I try) to our paradise on Langkawi Island.
Get there and they Hadnt got our faxed booking, so we had to take a cabin two (yes two shock horror) cabins away from the beach. I fell asleep, Ayanda played with his remote control car until it went flat and we realised we left the recharger back in KL (tears). I woke up after my nanna nap, put the sunnies on and we hit the beach YAHHHHH
Today Wednesday has been better: moved to facing the beach!!! Got a motorbike, with number plate 2020 (no more taxis), went to beach, went elephant riding, went to beach. it's all good.
we have some BIG plans, mainly involving the beach, and our friend Nigel flies in on Friday, and have I mentioned I LOVE Malaysia, and the beach?? Pantai Cenang is the name of our beach, but you won't find our hotel, it's a special secret one off the tourist maps :)
