The plan for today was to try and book onto a minibus to the Airport, we'd heard that this could be arranged through Vietnam Airlines, so set off to the head office. When we arrived, we found the office closed as it was Saturday but found another office across the road, which was also closed for lunch! Great start.
We decided to have a wander around the city, go for some lunch ourselves. We found somewhere to eat and ordered our usual noodles, Tom ordered his with beef. After no time at all our food arrived and Tom's beef was still covered in blood! If this would have been at home, he would have eaten it and no doubt enjoyed it but after being in Asia for 3 months now, we have seen how meat is stored and rare beef is definitely not a safe option! After picking at what was left of our lunch we headed back to Vietnam Airlines to try and book our ticket. There was already quite a queue when we arrived, we took our ticket and waited for about 30 minutes. When our turn finally arrived we explained what we wanted and were told to go to the office across the road, we explained that it was closed at weekends and as our flight was on Monday asked if they could help us out. All she kept saying was "across the road". Clearly getting nowhere we left and decided we would have to find an alternative way to get to the airport!
Feeling slightly deflated, we headed for a few afternoon 10p beers and met up with two lads who we were on the bus with yesterday. One of them was from St Helens and the other from Sheffield so we had a few drinks and enjoyed a bit of northern company for the first time in ages. That evening we went out again with Laura and Orna who told us they went to a really great museum today which had a festival going on in the grounds, so we have decided to give it a go tomorrow.
