Time for a new adventure!
On thursday morning, I went blackwater tubing with some other travellers. Five years ago I tubed in Thailand - in your bikini, in a tube relaxing on the river, but this was completely different! Wetsuits, helmets and lifevests were necessary.. And it was wild indeed! Jumping from waterfalls, cruising trough the bush - it was amazingly adventurous!
We had a nice couple of days, but it was an expensive hostel and not the nicest in the area.. Some of our food even got stolen! So now I know, that when I go back, I will stay at the other hostel. Well, you live and you learn.
On the way to The Crags, we stopped at the Bloukrans Bridge. This is THE bridge for bungee jumping in the world, because it is the highest! So we had a look at some people jumping and I have to admit that I would like to do it, I am just too scared to go alone. But you never know...
And then The Crags.. It was beautiful! The same vibe and surroundings as Hogsback, so immediatly I felt at home. Even though there was a permacultural festival going on and we were a bit out of place.. Think of hippies with dreads and wide trousers, smoking weed and eating only veggies. But it was nice.
We went to Monkeyland and Birds of Eden and it was a lot of fun. We saw some beautiful birds and little monkeys! It was totally worth the trip.
Plettenberg Bay was the next stop. It was a beautiful place: beaches, mountains and BIG houses! It was one rich town. But the good thing is, that the houses did not have the big walls with electrical wire. That way, it doesn't feel so scary to walk on the streets. To cut the story short, all I did was walking on the beach and sitting in the sun. Oh no, wait.. I wanted to canoe with another girl, but when we got the canoes no lock fit the key we got. So no canoeing for us.
Right now I am in Knysna, a very nice place with a pittoresque waterfront. Very European, actually, but still very nice. Hopefully, there will be a canoeing trip here in Knysna! I will let you know.
