A strange little Oasis near Ica. Staying at El Barrco hostel, cheapest in town if you bargain with them. A few restaurants and plenty of other noisier hostels to choose from if you like but don´t go for a siesta in the afternoon without having lunch as there´s no chance of getting food late afternoon, so we opted for a few beers and a cigarette to stem the hunger instead.

Not much happening around here other than the chance to go sand boarding/buggying but Sarah has frightened me into never trying it after hearing about the employee in Les Gets and his snow boarding incident! Great reviews from everyone on the sand buggies though. Sand Dunes not as impressive as in Namibia.

Spent two nights here and now off to Tacna on 15hr bus (80S) tonight. Sarah getting plenty of compliments on her Spanish which is very helpful as very few people speaking english around this way.
