Nat's Adventures
Landed in Delhi back in June but we weren't really taken with it and i suppose that is how it has been missed out of the journal before. We returned there again for couple of nights in August stayed in different place too.
First visit we were on the 'main bazaar' in the Smyle Inn hotel. Very backpackering street, cheap clothes and lots of nice wee cafes/restaurant and a couple of bars for alcohol. Visited the Red Fort (pictured), quite run down but still a popular place too see. Mahatma Ghandi museum was not what we expected, it was been renovated last year so its all very high tech now! Supposedly hands on but there are people walking you round and pushing the buttons for you! Dragged on and quite repetitive, good if you like fancy technology. The Indira Ghandi museum is worth a visit but we left it late in the day so had to rush round.
Got a wee drive around President residence and India Gate, where the Bollywood movie 'Fanaa' was filmed in parts.
Our second visit we splashed out and stayed around Connaught Place at the Bright Hotel, over priced for what it was but they get away with it! We were set to go sightseeing on monday morning without realising everything closes on this day, so we settled for a few beers, ultimate margaritas and a free Bday cake at TGI's to celebrate my fake Birthday! Got a free badge too saying -Take my advice i don't use it!
