Monday : fine
Wow I'm totally over the midnight insomnia, I think I'm going to buy some sleeping tablets because this is a joke, I was up at 12:23.
I took advantage of the time and got up around 2am and went to go make a phone call to Anz bank about reducing my account fees, and how to make overseas transactions. They said I can lower the fees because I'm no longer living in Australia. Strange thing to be thinking about in the middle of the night I know, and that's probably what was keeping me up.
It was nice outside, very fresh and still, I went to a few pay phones but was getting cutoff. I soon realized that I was getting cut off because I wasn't putting enough money in. Next problem was that the pay phones here don't except 1 pound coins and I didn't have enough of the smaller coins to make up the two pound per minute call. So I continued the walk and came across a 24hr kebab shop, I'm sure this place will come in handy further on down the track. But not tonight he didn't have enough smaller coins either.
I continued the walk around the block, it was nice and quiet. I didn't come across anymore shops open, so I ditched trying to make a call, and after walking the streets in the middle of the night for more than an hour I went back to bed.
I still couldn't sleep, I was up all bloody night, posting my diary and watching you tube videos. As usual I started to get tired when everyone as started to get up.
We had a nice breakfast, Grant went up the road and picked up some juice, Kim and I had our Vietnam style coffees.
We then made a plan for the day and left the building. First was to arrange our Goretex jackets to be picked up a day earlier because of our trip departure date. I then tried to find a pay phone that worked and call the future bosses. I didn't think this many were broken last night, I placed the call and made an appointment to meet them later dsarvo.
We caught a different train into town because, we needed to get a map of the train I'll be catching later today.
Once into town we went to a clothes shop and picked up some warmer clothes, and I had to leave Kim and Grant soon after that.
We arranged to meet at Maccas at around 4pm I left Kim and Grant to explore London, and I went to catch a train. My train trip took a long time, lots of long stops at stations.
I got to the future office and met the bosses, and they're nice people. It seems like I'll be well looked after here, and am looking forward to start.
After the meeting I got back into town one hour late, thanks to some free wifi I met Grant and Kim in a restaurant down the road from Maccas.
We then thought instead of going home in peak hour, we would walk around and see the town at night for awhile.
We walked down oxford and new bond street, and they were both lit up very nicely with Christmas lights. Soon we came to the river and followed it down to Big Ben and the houses of parliament, and they looked fantastic lit up at night. At that point I felt, wow we are really here in London, and for awhile.
We took a few photos and hung around a bit, then took the train straight home, gwizz It so easy to get around.
When we got home we cooked up a meal and cooked an apple pie, we were feeling pretty tired once we stopped and we all crashed out around the same time.
