Before I start, I just want to apologise for any erros in the following. Ive not had any alcohol for 5 days, until today!
Last night I didnt get much sleep, so ended up leaving my hostel at 7am. A mistake seeing as most places here dont open until 10am. Enjoyed a McDonnald breakfast (only 1 pound) watching the boats in the harbour. Then crossed onto Honk Kong island and caught a bus to a place called 'Stanley'. The bus drivers round here are nuts. Its as if there are no other drivers on the road! Luckly I survived!
There is a massive market in Stanley, which I then found out doesnt start until 10am either, so I ended up walking around and found a temple. (Pics uploaded) As I walked back into town to visit the market, I saw a Kung Fu movie being filmed! WICKED! all the movie cameras and stuff. No Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan though im afraid! I did a video of it though!
At lunch time, I started to feel unwell, I think my body is still trying to catch up with my head, or the other way round, im not sure. So I went back to my room and slept!
It was for lunch I had my first authentic local meal. Noodles, Beef and some weird sauce. To be honest, the beef was so random, I had to chuck it, but the rest was tastier than ive ever had!
As its my last night, I treated myself to a night harbour cruise. As I boarded the boat at 9.30pm, I noticed no ques or people waiting to board. It seemed that I was literally the only passenger for the night. I couldnt belive it. I stood talking to the tour guide (Cant remeber his name) drinking beer with him for the whole trip. This is one of those trips I came on this trip for, what an experience. I went and met the captain of the boat, I dont think he spoke a word of english, but looked strangely like an aged Mr Miagie from 'The Karate Kid'. I ended up walling away with 4 packets of nuts and 4 beers to take away with me. Im not on my 5th of the night, 3 to go!
Ive really enjoyed my time here, although I am ready to leave. This place wears you out, I need a holiday just to recover from these past 4 days. I may not get a good internet speed over the next few weeks, so there may not be many photos for a while. Off to Macau on the 10am ferry tomorrow morning, where I spend 1 night, then off to Bangkok and Laos.
Just as an additional though. Ive just found out my wife has won an award as the 'Number 1 Newly Qualified Financial Advisor in the UK' Thats number 1 out of the entire UK! Well done Sarah! Im sorry I cant be with you right now, I feel awfull, but hope you enjoy your night!xx
