dad Hi hope its still going well .you should be in bangkok by now.Been there done that etc If you havent any traveling companions by now get down to backpackers ally and meet like minded people .as you are might be finding out citys are great with company but can be lonely places on your own.anyway tips to see as mum mentioned ,papong night market great atmosphere cheap everthing designer clothes direct from the back door of the real factories, but stay out of the girlie bars.A trip on the canoes with the HGV engine on the back ,keep your mouth closed the spay from poluted river you dont need ,floting market grand palace and all the temples .Probably one of our faverite places in the world ENJOY IT
